Grades, with the numbers published
Chemistry, mechanical properties, temperature limits, matching nuts and the equivalent designations — for every grade we manufacture. Check a specification here before you send the enquiry.
Alloy steel — ASTM A193
Chrome-moly bolting for pressure and temperature. This is what most refinery flanges run on.
Low temperature — ASTM A320
The same steels as A193, but impact tested at −101 °C. Required for LNG and cryogenic duty.
Stainless — ASTM A193 B8 / B8M
When corrosion decides the design. Lower bolt load than B7, but no coating to fail.
ASTM A193 Grade B8 Class 1
Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 304
ASTM A193 Grade B8 Class 2
Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 304
ASTM A193 Grade B8M Class 1
Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 316
ASTM A193 Grade B8M Class 2
Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 316
Nuts — ASTM A194
Heavy hex nuts. Getting the pairing wrong quietly voids the sour service or cryogenic qualification.
ASTM A194 Grade 2H
Medium carbon steel
ASTM A194 Grade 2HM
Medium carbon steel
ASTM A194 Grade 4
Carbon-molybdenum steel
ASTM A194 Grade 7
Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (AISI 4140)
ASTM A194 Grade 7M
Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (AISI 4140)
ASTM A194 Grade 8
Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 304
ASTM A194 Grade 8M
Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 316
Metric — DIN & ISO
Threaded rod and metric property classes for structural, anchoring and general mechanical work.
DIN 975
Carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless — to the specified property class
DIN 976-1
Carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless — to the specified property class
ISO 898-1
Carbon steel and alloy steel
ISO 3506-1
Austenitic stainless steel — A2 (304) and A4 (316)
