B8 Cl.1Stud bolt
ASTM A193 Grade B8 Class 1
Solution-treated 304 stainless. Modest strength — 515 MPa tensile — but it holds from cryogenic temperatures up to 816 °C and needs no coating. Use it where corrosion, not bolt load, drives the design.
- Base material
- Austenitic stainless steel, AISI 304
- Heat treatment condition
- Carbide solution treated
- Hardness, max
- 223 HBW / 96 HRB maximum
Service temperature
-254 °C+816 °C−273+900 °C
Class 1 is annealed and therefore soft. If the joint needs more bolt load in the same diameter, specify Class 2 (strain hardened) instead.
